Demand courts prosecute animal abuse in Oregon

Animal abuse charges were dropped against Amanda L. Newcomb after Oregon court of appeals ruled that animals are living beings but they are also property under the eyes of the law and that owners have the constitutional right to be free from unreasonable search and seizures Amanda Newcomb was convicted in 2011 of second-degree animal neglect after a animal-cruelty investigator removed a dog from her yard in 2010 when the investigator determined there was a strong possibility the dog needed medical care. Newcomb claimed her rights were violated when the dog was taken from her yard and examined without a warrant. This ruling could make it much harder for animal cruelty investigators to treat animals who are in need of immediate care and prosecute their human companions for abuse. Please tell the Oregon Court of Appeals that this ruling is not acceptable.
