Demand Felony Charges for Officer Accused of Shooting Cats

Marion County, SC, Code Enforcement Officer Marion Richardson is accused of shooting and killing over a dozen cats. He acquired the cats from the county animal shelter under false pretense that he was relocating the cats to local farms to help control mice populations. Over a dozen of the cats have been found shot dead at an undisclosed location.

We believe many dozens, possibly hundreds have been shot and killed by officer Richardson over the past several months. Demand that the SC Law Enforcement Division conduct a full investigation to determine (1) how long this illegal and brutal activity has been taking place, (2) whether any other county officials condoned this activity, (3) that all involved be charged with Maximum Penalty of Felony Cruelty, to the fullest extent of SC Law.

That other officials may have also participated in the shooting of cats AND dogs in Marion County, SC. Please call the governor’s office in South Carolina at 803-734-2100 and "urge Governor Nikki Haley to reopen and ensure a thorough and transparent investigation of the systematic shooting of cats and dogs by officials in Marion County.” Thank you.
