Stop Walmart From Selling Hartz Products!!
Hartz flea and tick products are nothing but toxic chemicals people are putting on their animals every month! The public needs to be aware of how harmful these products are to their pets! The primary active ingredient is an organophosphate insecticide (OP) which is derived from phosphoric acid and is among the most acutely toxic of all pesticides to animals. Hartz's products are regulated not by the FDA, but by the EPA because of its harmful ingredients! OPs are nerve poisons. Please help in getting these harmful products off the shelves!
We the undersigned are concerned about the well-being of our pets. When we see fleas, we know we need to get rid of them, so we go to the store and buy a cheap, over-the-counter product which we think will work on these pests because they are sold in stores, so they are safe right? Wrong!! Hartz flea and tick products are very unsafe! The primary ingredient is an organophosphate insecticide which is derived from phosphoric acid and is among the most acutely toxic of all pesticides to animals! This ingredient is the main concern which has caused side effects in pets such as depression, vomiting, drooling, neurological symptoms, cardiovascular symptoms, and if not taken care of right away, can cause death. We love Walmart, but knowing that you sell this product is very concerning because it seems that by having this product on your shelves, you are saying that you are not concerned with your consumer's well-being and selling the product is just another dollar to you. We know Walmart is a "people" store and tries to make everyone happy with your low prices and good customer service. So one less product on the shelves is not going to hurt your business because the people love Walmart! There are other alternatives to the Hartz products, or you can just not sell flea and tick products at all. There are plenty of pet shops and vet clinics who carry the safe flea and tick products, so why not let them? Cheaper is not always better! If you had a pet, would you put a product on them that could potentially cause extreme discomfort or possibly death? Why sell it to others?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter!
