UCONN Students and Faculty Deserve Clean and Fresh Water

I am a senior at UCONN attending the Stamford campus. The quality of our water fountains is downright pathetic. They do not work most of the time and when they do the water is cloudy, warm and has a metallic taste. The only other option is to buy water bottles from the vending machines for $2.25: These vending machines have consistently failed to vend water after payment which is completely unacceptable, taking money from many who are trying to keep themselves afloat while attending college.

I have spoken to UCONN students from the main campus at Storrs and they report similar problems. Low quality, dysfunctional water fountains that provide subpar water. 

This may sound like a minor inconvenience, but when taking the health and wellbeing of the students and faculty into consideration, think of the harm of not having ready access to clean, fresh drinking water. Students can be become dehydrated, lose money from having to buy expensive PLASTIC bottles from vending machines, etc.
