Families across Chicago are being terrorized by brutal, unconstitutional raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In recent weeks, federal immigration agents have conducted violent raids – storming apartments by helicopter, using chemical agents near schools, and zip-tying children and U.S. citizens in their own homes.
These are not isolated incidents. So far, over 1,000 people have been detained in Chicago, many of them lawful residents or citizens. Entire neighborhoods have been turned into war zones under the guise of "immigration enforcement." Agents kick down doors without warrants. Tear gas canisters have even landed near schoolyards. Now, Trump is sending in hundreds of out-of-state troops from the National Guard.
Sign the petition to demand an immediate end to these unconstitutional raids and accountability for the federal agencies responsible.
These actions go far beyond immigration control – which is already unnecessary. They are acts of intimidation that violate civil rights, traumatize children, and erode public trust. Chicago's governor and local leaders have called for investigations after children were zip-tied and separated from their parents. Even city officials, like a Chicago alderperson, have been handcuffed for daring to ask agents to show a warrant.
This is not law enforcement, it's state-sanctioned terror. The use of helicopters, smoke grenades, and chemical agents on residential streets is unacceptable in any democracy.
No one – citizen, immigrant, or refugee – should fear the government. These raids must end.
Sign the petition to demand Congress and the Department of Homeland Security immediately halt these military-style immigration raids, launch an independent investigation, and ensure that no community in America lives under the threat of government violence.
