The Great Barrier Reef needs our help

I am a year 11 student who has been utterly appalled at the way the Australian government has handled the crisis the Great Barrier Reef is facing. I realise that in order to sway the government there must be an economic imperative, however we cannot afford to allow companies such as Adani to mine fossil fuels for exportation (and not domestic consumption) at the expense of our own citizens' wellbeing; those who's livelihoods rely on the GBR.
