Each year 3-4 million adoptable pets that enter shelters never make it out. They are euthanized. These pets need to be given a chance to be rescued by welfare groups and to be able to be fostered or directly adopted into loving homes. These animals are innocent and don't deserve to die because they were born. There ARE plenty of good homes, they just need the time to find them. Please help stop our shelters from mercilessly killing animals for their own profits and to "clear space" just so the cycle can continue. Banning of illegal puppy and kitten mills must be enforced as well! Please ensure monetary funds are allocated to shelters in all states at the local level so they can upgrade their current space to be able to house more animals in their care as well as provide funds for a mandatory spay and neuter program for the pets being put up for adoption thru the shelters. Animals in shelters will be provided with all their necessary medical care and housed and fed until they are adopted out. Animals deserve compassionate care. No healthy, adoptable animals are to be euthanized.
