West Papuan Genocide and their rightful Independence

I am writing to you to express my shame that the Australian government does nothing to help stop the human rights abuses being committed by Indonesia in West Papua.
These are the same peoples that helped save Australian soldiers’ lives in the war. Is it not arrogant of us as a nation, that when they require help we do nothing? Or worse funding the very people committing the atrocity and neglecting to highlight the issue and seek change. Pretending it is not happening is just as bad as committing the atrocity ourselves.

The West Papuan people are a proud people being stripped of their rights, their lands and its wealth and their very lives. Even the security of their very existence as a people is under imminent threat.
Can you please inform me of what you personally are going to do to ensure that Australia takes a major role in doing the right thing by the West Papuans?
Can you also please inform me when you will be raising this matter in Parliament and internationally so we as a nation can move forward and assist our West Papuan Brothers and Sisters rebuild their nation and gain the Independence they so rightly deserve.
