To The Prime Minister,
The Parramatta Female Factory Historic site needs your help!
To ensure this International significant site is World Heritage Listed.
and can be enjoyed and experienced by all generations of Australians
Its our heritage and our Identity.
It was designed by Francis Greenway on a Governor Macquarie Initiative, the first stone was laid in 1818, It was the first dedicated womens health service in the colony.
This factory predates all but 3 of UNESCO world heritage items,
it closed in 1848 and is now part of Cumberland Hospital!
The site needs funding and custodianship to preserve and conserve it,
The state goverment of NSW has done neither and does not value it. nor give funds towards it!
