Please add sound to electric cars for pedestrian safety

Electric cars need to make a sound. Hearing traffic is key to being safe as a pedestrian, no question. I’ve had people tell me they’ve almost been hit by electric cars because they are silent. Clearly this happens all the time. Electric cars are great for the environment and for efficiency. So this NOT a petition against electric cars at all. But the same way we put an odor in the gas we use in our homes we need to make electric cars audible for pedestrian safety.
