He needs to be held accountable and charged with at least 16 felony counts of animal cruelty.
Police were called to investigate the home of a 48-year old man named Vernon Alonzo Silver in regards to possible animal neglect and cruelty. Mr. Silver of the 3700 Block of Abbey Court in Hampton, VA was issued summons in regards to the deplorable conditions of the dogs in his possession. An anonymous tip came in stating that there were several dogs being neglected at the home. According to Hampton Police Division spokesman Sgt. Jason Price, the dogs were found outside, some in mud and feces, some found in makeshift pens and in crates; some of which were stacked on a shed.
Although there are no current signs that the dogs were being used for dog fighting activities, an investigation and charges against the owner are still pending. All the dogs were seized and taken to the SPCA for a thorough examination and evaluation. A neighbor of Mr. Silver was concerned about the dogs after seeing numerous animals at the property, along with a constant flow of people coming back and forth to the home, coming in and out with dogs. As he stated, this is an ongoing issue that has been occurring for several years. The supposed owner of the animals does not want to comment on the situation and charges are pending.

Hampton, VA Law Enforcers and Judicial System – Continue your thorough investigation on Mr. Vernon Alonzo Silver and make him accountable for neglect and cruelty of the pitbulls found on his property. For years, you have been called to this home for similar occurrences; however nothing has changed because this guy is not charged and punished accordingly. As long as you just slap him on the hand and tell him, “don’t do that again,” he will just repeat his compulsive abuse of these and other animals. STOP HIM!! Charge him severely and slap a severe punishment on him that will also ban him from ever owning or caring for another animal of any type for the rest of his life. He should be charged with at least 16 felony counts and harsh retribution in the name of the animals he neglected and abused.
