Petition against Case # 2014-049

Property owners, Joseph & Cindy Fickas, of 2425 Catalina Lane, Springfield, IL 62702 are attempting to rezone their newly purchased property from "Residential" to "Residential Manufactured Home". 3 of the 4 properties touch the proposed property are stick build homes. 13 out of the 17 homes in the neighborhood are stick build homes. Manufactured homes are not a precedent in this neighborhood and there for should not be allowed the change. This will dramatically reduce other property values within the affected neighborhood. The new owners of 2425 Catalina Ln are not using this as their primary residence and it will be used as a vacation home, such as Joseph and Cindy Fickas have stated. Therefore they are not concerned with the values of the neighborhood and neighboring properties. Mr. Fickas has even stated his property water runoff will be pushed to the neighboring property. And that it is not his concern after it leaves his property.
