Retain Permit Requirement to Buy a Gun in Iowa

An Iowa Senate panel has drafted a bill and passed it on to eliminate the need to have a permit to allow persons to buy a gun. Permits are no more an infringement on the right to bear arms than registration to vote constrains the constitutional right to vote. In an age of widespread gun violence we must call on legislators to vote NO on any bill that would make guns more widely accessible.
