Canada, Don't Weaken Gun Regulations!

Firearms regulations are in place to keep our country safe.  However, the Government of Canada has voted to weaken gun regulations, putting this safety in jeopardy. 

The new gun regulations reduce the power of chief firearm officers, which will make it difficult for provinces to strengthen legislation to maintain their gun laws.  Also, the new regulations will make it easier to transport firearms and reduce screening processes for certain firearm licenses.  

Additionally, these new regulations were put in place days before the Supreme Court is due to hear a case from Quebec about gaining access to the former gun registry. With this new regulation, the federal government will be intervening in this case, raising concerns about whether the new gun regulations are favouring politics over public safety.
