13 Year Old Boy Sets Fire to Cat....

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) - A 13-year-old Middletown boy is facing an animal cruelty charge after police say he set fire to a cat that had wandered into his yard.  Police say the boy was tired of the cat getting into the garbage, so on Tuesday night he hit it with a piece of wood, wrapped it in an alcohol-soaked tissue and set it on fire.

The cat had to be euthanized, and the boy is charged with delinquency by way of cruelty to animals. He was released to his mother and ordered to appear in Butler County Juvenile Court next month.

The boy's father also was charged with obstructing official business after police say he cursed at officers on the scene.

Middletown is about 30 miles north of Cincinnati.

Please write, call or e-mail. This is a serious situation. Setting fire to a cat and killing it is serious enough in and of itself, however, there is a link between this behavior and killing of humans. How long before this boy takes that next step?

Please request accountability for his actions combined with therapy. Please ask politely. Thank you.
