The clock is ticking: we must end overfishing before it's too late. Every year more fish are being taken from our seas than can be replaced, causing fish populations to collapse and enormous damage to the whole ecosystem. Our EU leaders made a commitment to stop destructive overfishing by 2020, but with this critical deadline getting closer every day, they're still approving unsustainable fishing limits, against scientific advice.
This has to stop. Yet with big players in the fishing industry pushing hard for bigger allowances to boost their short term profits, we need your help to push back, and to hold our leaders to account. The seas don't belong to a few profit-hungry companies, they belong to us all. And we must protect them.
We're calling on EU leaders to uphold their commitments by supporting sustainable fishing limits and enforcing the ban on dumping dead and dying fish.
Please take action now for the future of our seas and the fishing communities that rely on them.
