Don't Let MySpace Become FoxSpace!

MySpace has been limiting its users from posting Widgets that promote other pages or services. They say this is a "violation of its terms of service," but do they really expect to censor what people put on their pages? MySpace gives the impression that users have complete creative freedom, but if they are telling people to take things off their pages, then this isn't true at all.

We're not talking about pornography here, we're talking about people promoting sites or things that they enjoy on their MySpace pages. It is time for companies to realize that the future of Internet is freedom. There is no way to regulate all pages, and we do not want censorship on MySpace.

Tell MySpace Founder Anderson that you want freedom on MySpace!

Dear Mr. Anderson,

I am distressed by the recent news that MySpace has been telling users to remove content, particularly Widgets, that sell items, advertise or represent other companies. As a space for creative freedom and a true representation of the future of internet and social communities, it concerns me that this site could be vulnerable to censorship.

I ask you to accept the fact that the future of the internet is a free and open space. You simply cannot dictate what a person's Internet experience will be like. People should be allowed to share their interests with other MySpace users without being told that it is a conflicting business interest to MySpace. I ask you to stop censoring harmless MySpace pages.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
