Petition to Iowa City's Mayor Ross Wilburn to sign the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement

Dear Mayor Wilburn,

Global warming is a serious problem that must be solved sooner, rather than later.  We can and must take action on a local level to burn less fossil fuel,  which produces carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases that contribute to global warming.  Improving energy-efficiency is the answer to reducing greenhouse gases--and saving taxpayer dollars!

As a constituent,  I urge you to sign onto the U.S Mayors Climate Protection Agreement.  You will be joining more than 200 mayors form 38 states who are committed to making their cities cleaner, healthier places to live.  In Iowa, Mayor Cownie of Des Moines has signed this important promise; don't let our city be left behind -- let's do our part!
