Stand With Maimonides, Its Patients, and Staff: Set the record straight about Brooklyn's award-winning hospital

Maimonides Medical Center is a vital healthcare institution in the heart of Brooklyn, and the efforts of its workforce over the last two years have been nothing short of heroic. Our communities depend on Maimonides and the care it provides.

Today, Maimonides is the target of an aggressive and misleading PR campaign seeking to disparage the quality of care it provides, discourage residents from using the hospital, and disengage employees.

This divisive campaign—funded by anonymous individuals—is harming the institution, its workforce, and the communities it serves, while taking advantage of the very real issues our healthcare system, and those across the country, have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Let's keep Maimonides strong by working together to support the hospital in doing what it does best – taking care of patients and achieving top clinical outcomes. Make your voice heard by signing the petition and sending a letter to your elected officials to support Maimonides Medical Center against these unfounded, misleading attacks.
#StandWithMaimo

We are writing to express our support for Maimonides Medical Center, and its exceptional care team, which is a pillar of our Brooklyn community.

Year after year, Maimonides is recognized by independent organizations for achieving clinical outcomes among the best in the U.S., right here in our back yard. Maimonides has also distinguished itself through its engagement with surrounding communities – collaborating closely with a diverse range of stakeholders to improve the health of the borough.

In this context, we are deeply dismayed by a recent campaign to disparage the quality of care at Maimonides and spread misleading information about the institution.

Whatever the motivations are behind this campaign—funded by anonymous individuals—these attacks are irresponsible, counter-productive, and harmful. All of us—patients, employees, and partners of Maimonides—call for them to cease.

Like hospitals across the country, Maimonides has faced real challenges over the past two years – contending with an industry-wide staffing shortage, on top of a pandemic. We should all be working together to improve our healthcare system, strengthen institutions like Maimonides, and support its workforce. We strenuously disagree with the campaign's premise that Maimonides is "overfunded." Institutions like Maimonides serve our most vulnerable communities and need more resources, not fewer, to address historical inequities.

We are calling on our elected officials to oppose this destructive campaign and support essential community institutions like Maimonides whose efforts during the pandemic on behalf of those it serves have been nothing short of heroic.
