Fight Alzheimer's Faster: Support the SPRINT Agenda Act

Alzheimer's disease doesn't just rob people of their memories. It slowly steals their dignity, erodes their health -- and worst of all, it breaks their loved ones' hearts before the disease takes its final toll.

The federal government is spending hundreds of billions of dollars each year caring for patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease and other chronic conditions, and the costs are only expanding. Alzheimer's alone is expected to cost our nation $2 trillion by 2050.

The SPRINT Agenda Act is an innovative, bipartisan vision to attack Alzheimer's and other high-cost conditions by expediting the discovery of new therapies and accelerating their development and review. SPRINT spurs private innovation and most importantly, speeds the process for drugs to get approved, getting new treatments to suffering families faster.

Tell Congress today to support the SPRINT Agenda Act and help fight against chronic conditions like Alzheimer's to protect the public and fiscal health of America.
SUBJECT: Support the SPRINT Agenda Act

Dear [Decision Maker],

As an advocate devoted to finding a cure for Alzheimer's, I am writing to urge you to support the Spending Reductions through Innovations in Therapies (SPRINT) Agenda Act.

SPRINT is an innovative vision to attack Alzheimer's and other high-cost chromic conditions by expediting the discovery of new therapies and accelerating their development and review. With the United States government -- for the first time ever -- moving ahead to develop a National Alzheimer's Plan that establishes a national goal for the prevention or effective treatment of Alzheimer's by 2025 or earlier, SPRINT will provide the tools necessary to achieve it.

At its core, SPRINT seeks to deliver therapies to patients suffering form Alzheimer's and other high-cost chronic conditions far more quickly and cost-effectively than today by shortening the therapeutic discovery and development pipeline.

SPRINT recognizes that the nation has two fundamental choices when it comes to paying for Alzheimer's and other high-cost diseases. One choice is to incur ever-increasing health care expenditures projected to exceed, in the case of Alzheimer's disease alone, $1 trillion by 2050. The second is to accelerate the discovery and development of therapies to prevent and effectively treat the disease and enable patients to live healthier and more productive lives. SPRINT believes a healthier nation is possible and pursues this vision by applying well-proven public-private partnership models to bridge the therapeutic "valley of death" and deliver safe and effective treatments to patients as quickly as possible.

Chronic diseases don't know politics; SPRINT already has bipartisan, bicameral cosponsors. Help alleviate the burden of Alzheimer's and other high-cost chronic diseases on families across the country in the near future and help cure this devastating disease.
