Save The Sarus Crane!

Help save the home of the endangered Sarus Crane from plans to extend an airstrip.
The Sarus Crane Grus antigone is the tallest bird in the world.It is found in very few regions in the world.India's Etawah and Mainpuri districts in Uttar Pradesh boast a third of India's Sarus population.the air strip naturally be following hotels and houses and that means more people and more vehicles and more pollution.The Wildlife institute of India has recorded five breeding pairs of Sarus Cranes and also one breeding pair of the critically endangered Black necked Stork.Along with the cranes, hundres of other birds which migrate here in winter have no where to go.The state government also plans of growing sugarcanes in these districts and nearby which have excellent wetlands which which play a vital role in recharging groundwater.The growth of this water demanding plant will destroy hese lands.
The Wildlife Protection society of India has already filed an application against the government of Uttar Pradesh before the Supreme court.Now we have to support them and save these lands and the birds that take shelter from them.This is the time of action so dont just sit there, Do something!
