Insurers Must Not End COVID Coverage, Urge Officials to Take Action

While the pandemic continues to rage, protecting individuals who need COVID-19 testing and treatment from incurring high bills and insurmountable medical debt should be a priority for Congress.

High insurance deductibles, rising out-of-pocket costs, and huge medical bills are plaguing health care consumers. At the beginning of the pandemic, health insurers waived health care costs related to the virus, such as testing and treatment.

Now, most insurers are now changing course. Coverage for COVID-19 related issues and care options, such as telemedicine, are much less robust. Nearly three quarters of the largest health plans across the country are ending their COVID-19 waivers. This is true even as the nation's largest insurers' CEOs receive huge raises and their companies rake in record profits.

Take action today and demand Congress prioritize protecting consumers from high health care costs related to COVID-19.
Dear Congressmember:

While the pandemic continues on, people who need COVID-19 testing and treatment should be protected from incurring high bills and insurmountable medica debt. Yet, high insurance deductibles, rising out-of-pocket costs, and huge medical bills are plaguing health care consumers.

Insurers who once waived health care costs related to COVID-19 testing and treatment are now ending their waivers, even while many of the nation's largest insurers rake in profits and dole out huge raises to their CEOS.

I strongly urge you to stand up for the people in your state and protect us from the rising health care costs and insurmountable medical debt related to COVID-19.

Sincerely,
