Protect Pennsylvania Families from Toxic Coal Ash

The residents of La Belle are fighting to defend their community and families from the coal ash contaminating their air and water.

Coal ash contains mercury, arsenic, selenium, and other toxins left behind when coal is burned for electricity. Because it's allowed to lay in dumps uncovered, the ash gets swept up by the wind and blows across the land, contaminating the water and air with carcinogenic coal waste. You can help the families of La Belle defend their health against coal waste by speaking out for stronger public safeguards for toxic coal ash.

Send a message to Michael Krancer, The Secretary of the PA Department of Environmental Protection, and tell him to protect the residents of La Belle from toxic coal ash.
Subject: Protect Pennsylvania Families from Toxic Coal Ash

Dear [Decision Maker],

A small Mon River community needs your help. The town of La Belle has been used as a dumping ground for toxic coal ash from the Mitchell Coal plant and others in the area for many years, and they have suffered greatly for it.

Coal ash contains mercury, arsenic, selenium, and other toxins left behind when coal is burned for electricity. Left uncovered, it's swept up by wind or seeps into the groundwater, poisoning both the air and the water.

Please use the power of your office to protect this community from toxic coal ash.
