Irish government: Take urgent action to protect the rights of people with disabilities globally during COVID-19

We are calling on the Irish government to support a disability-inclusive global response to COVID-19. The government must exert its influence on the global stage to urge the United Nations and its member countries to protect the rights of people with disabilities.

Around the world, people with disabilities are being disproportionately impacted by the pandemic: facing discrimination, a lack of accessible information and being deprioritised in receiving health care. This is on top of the existing barriers to participation in society, including widespread discrimination, that many people with disabilities experience on a daily basis.

We urge the Irish government to use its influence at the UN to end disability discrimination for everyone, everywhere.
