Open Letter to Maxwell

Dear Maxwell.

You need to hurry up & give us fans something new to enjoy. OK, I
know I have no right to make demands on you. I'm not anyone special
in your life. You don't know me from Adam or Eve. If you ever met
me, I'm sure it wouldn't register anywhere in your memory if we met
a second, third, or even fourth time. Might not even register the
first time :o) However, I do appreciate your music, your energy,
your smile (hey, I have to be honest here.)

I'm sure you've heard this before, or at least something like it,
but... your music has been like a close, intimate friend to me. And
my other friends can testify that when I don't hear from my closest
friends for an extended period I become concerned, anxious, angry,
depressed, disillusioned, distant... pretty much in that order.
Eventually I do come around, but it's not very pretty in the
meantime and it really drives my husband nuts.

I understand creativity & how that process is unique to each
individual. I understand that you are a human being and at times you
need more 'being' and less 'doing.' I understand that while music
may be your life, your life is not always music - and I can respect
this. Still, I also know the ripple effect your music has on so many
lives, not just mine.

When you release music, I know for a fact that there is a new sense
of vitality and hope in some of your fans. There are fans who dare
to dream of love where that dream was once void. There are fans who
can begin to let go of: (insert yor particular pain here.) There are
fans who decide to be themselves for the first time - no longer
feeling shackled by the expectations of others. There are fans who
feel they can justify traveling to see their friends because you
will be there also. Not that they would never travel to see those
friends, but now they can come together with a larger group in a
wonderful reunion mingled with the essence of family.

I apologize for being so demanding at the beginning of this missive.
I admit that I'm not always diplomatic in conveying my desires, but
I am honest. My words may not adequately express my feelings, but I
hope you understand how much I miss you. How much all of your fans
miss you. Rest assured, I'll be right there when that CD goes on
sale on some Tuesday of some month next year. And when I hear that
first single on the radio you can best believe I'll be on the phone
at the first opportunity, calling one of my fellow "maxheadz",
screaming about how much I love it... and I will love it because
it's a 'hello' from you.

I know I'm just a soul you have never met, but it feels good to get
this out of my system. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

As a very deep and true Maxwell fan, I would hereby like to make
this letter from on of the most lovely and eloquent of our "Family",
Ms. Diva J, a petition to be signed by all True MaxHeadz everywhere,
in this group and beyond. I believe this sentiment is shared by us
all; some of us just cannot express it as well.

And Maxwell, I do believe when I hear that you respect each and
every one of your fans and the gifts they give. And I want to
believe that since you received the photo album (that was
painstakingly done yet filled with love and sent to Columbus, Ohio
from Maryland just so it would reach you personally) from the author
of this letter (petition) that you will remember the faces that you
have seen on many occasions at your shows and hopefully pulling out
that picture album checking out those faces every now and then just
to contemplate on the "Family" that you so soulfully brought
together.
