Call for Compassionate Science
We ask that the University of Washington & the Washington National Primate Research Center actively pursue alternatives to animal research by spending equal amounts of money on non-animal research methods as they do on animal experimentation methods.
(for every $1 on animal research, they spend $1 on non-animal alternatives or developing non-animal alternatives)
We the undersigned call for the University of Washington to truly embody the 3 "R"s of responsible research (Refinement: minimise suffering and distress, Reduction: minimise number of animals used, Replacement: avoid the use of living animals). Given that the University of Washington receives millions of dollars in government funding for research, we ask that the UW & the Washington National Primate Research Center (wanprc) actively and avidly cultivate humane alternatives to animal testing by spending $1 on non-animal research methods, or developing non-animal research methods, for every $1 they spend on animal experiments. signersigner
