CITIZENS TO CONTROL THE TONGUE OF DR. JEREMIAH WRIGHT CRUSADE
(An Urgent Petition that will be sent to Dr. Wright)
In the Bible, God tells us to bridle or control our tongues because this organ is capable of inflicting serious damage. We the undersigned do humbly request that because of the historic candidacy of Senator Barack Obama and in order to promote the unifying spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., that Dr. Jeremiah Wright should IMMEDIATELY CEASE giving interviews to the press until a new President has been selected.
We applaud the great strides that have been made in the area of race relations in this country. Unfortunately, many individuals still harbor unfounded racist attitudes toward minority politicians like Obama. WE BELIEVE THAT WITH THE PROPER COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION THAT A GLORIOUS TRANSFORMATION OF HOPE CAN TAKE PLACE IN THEIR LIVES.
Dr. Wright is correct in asserting that many Americans do not understand the unique role of the black church. We applaud the great work that his church has done to help the homeless, prisoners and other disadvantaged groups. However, his socially active and poignant sermons coupled with Wright%u2019s aggressive interaction with the press add fuel to racist fears and prevent Americans from making a fair assessment of candidate Obama who has a history of helping the downtrodden.
The words of Solomon in the Bible said it all: %u201CThere is a time for everything under the sun.%u201D THE TIME HAS COME FOR DR. WRIGHT TO CONTROL HIS TONGUE AND CEASE INTERACTION WITH THE PRESS IMMEDIATELY. CONCERNED BLACK PASTORS SHOULD COUNSEL AND PRAY WITH DR. WRIGHT IMMEDIATELY.
Signing this petition in no wise means that you support Obama, but that you want this candidate to receive a fair shake in this election.

REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL THREE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES AS WE NEAR THE END OF A HISTORIC CAMPAIGN SEASON. AMEN!!!
