In news, print media, and online there is an unequal representation of the two large schools in Colorado, as well as the private schools. The goal of this petition is to equalize the headlines about the schools. Money should not buy articles and headlines about a new player from one school when another has done just the same. Money should not be the force that determines whether or not a school is more important. What should be important is making sure that all the schools are represented in the media, so all residents of Colorado can be proud of their educational system.
To Whom it May Concern:
We have been watching the coverage of our Colorado schools, and we have found that there is a large discrepancy between the coverages of the different schools.
There is a hige difference in the amount of newspaper space and number of headlines for the University of Colorado and any other University or College in Colorado. We find that this difference between the educational systems is unfair and we are requesting equal representation of all schools in Colorado.
We understand that money plays a huge part in advertising and purchasing space in newspapers, but we are requesting that money is not the difference between all of us. Every school in Colorado is valuable, and every one has students that can make a difference. Advertising and writing space should not be a deciding factor for future students.
Please take our request seriously, we have felt this way for quite awhile and are not to be considered inferior because of the school we have chosen to continue our education. Thank you for your consideration.
