Extend Shelter Stays for Animals

A shelter is supposed to be a place of santuary for a homeless animal, not a death penalty.  If you really loved animals you wouldn't give them a deadline for adoption.  The only time an animal should be put down is if it's in agonizing pain or such a pitiful state there's no hope for it, an animal should not be put down because of homelessness.

It's not fair to put animals down just because no one wants them.  Animals should only be put down if they're in agonizing pain.

We don't put down homeless people, why should we put down homeless animals?  What makes them less valued than homeless people. 

If you want to solve the growing population of homeless animals, start at the breeders.  Breeders kill shelter animals' chances of finding a home.  Outlaw breeders and encourage people to adopt shelter animals.
