Facebook Credits For Charity? Are they worth it??

I just discovered the application for charity gifts on Facebook - It costs 3.50 BP to send meals to Haiti ($5)... Does the charity giving on Facebook work, or is it the fraud, with nothing but a virtual badge, that it seems?
Does it work on the same basis as Click and Donate on Care2?? Anyone have anything to say??
Anyone think that Facebook should bring back free starter credits, to encourage charity gift giving? Like, to start you off, they'll donate a credits gift to the charity/cause, on their list, of your choice..??? Then, AFTER that, whether you buy credits to line their pockets, or alternatively, help further charities via them, is up to you - It might help convince you, and, in the meantime, their new policy would help do things like Give 10 meals to Haiti ( The 3.50 BP/$5 gift option)... I'd like to do that, give 10 meals to Haiti, but I'm not sure I trust Facebook! I can't be the only one who feels this way!
