Reinstate John Simpson Vice Principal @ NC

To all:

 On March 9, 2010  John Simpson was demoted from his Vice Principal position without warning or just cause. He has been an administrator for over 24 years at the North Monterey County School District and is without doubt one of the most respected and competent administrators in the district. What happened was not only unjust but cowardly. John does not have a union behind him like teachers do so it is our job to fight for him in any way we can.  North County has never been about stabbing each other in the back and we all need to make sure that what is going on does not become the norm.

      An emergency board meeting was held last Thursday night where a concerned parent brought up the issue of trust.  They felt that should the board continue to make rash decisions without taking the community into consideration, trust between the two would diminish.  John's situation is part of this issue.  If the board is willing to do something like this to someone like John who is full of integrity and who has given nothing but his best to this district, then who's next?

      There is a saying that "ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR EVIL TO PREVAIL IS FOR THE GOOD TO DO NOTHING". Therefore, I am opening up this petition tonight and  will forward the results to the media, our community, and the board to undo this injustice that was done to our good friend John. He does not deserve how he has been treated. He is an honorable man and there is no good reason for his demotion. John deserves an apology and to be reinstated as vice principal. 

 There are causes in life that we cannot simply turn our back on and this is one of them. We must stand in unity for our friend and show that his service to thousands of kids over the years has not been taken for granted.
