Demand Shipt Pay Workers Fairly

    Shipt put into place a new pay scale stating shoppers will get paid more for their efforts, which in turn, will make shoppers more money. However, since this pay change, shoppers have made less money. Pay is much less, most of the time half of what was paid previously on larger orders which take more time and “effort” and pay on small orders equals the pay received for larger orders, sometimes more! All of this DURING A PANDEMIC!

    Shipt also began bundling orders, putting two orders together, forcing shoppers to shop two orders at once and basically get paid for one order. So as shoppers shop a two for one, Shipt is making double the money as shoppers are making 50% less, which is LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE! This also puts customer service at risk, having to focus on more than one customer at a time, which in turn can affect shopper tips.

    Shipt also included tips in their algorithm when they decided to cut shopper pay. Tips are optional. Not every customer tips and this should NOT have been part of the equation.

    So while shoppers bust their butts for MUCH LESS than previously, Shipt is sitting back reaping the benefits and not listening to the ones who are making them all of the money and keeping their business running.

    Shipt needs to revert back to the old pay scale and dissolve bundles, as neither are beneficial to shoppers or customers. Or they need to find a better way to pay their workers fair pay. Shipt, once a company shoppers were proud to work for, has now become a company with a bad reputation for not caring about its “essential” workers.
