Support a Nationwide Standard for Renewable Energy!

The majority of U.S. states enforce a renewable standard of energy. A new bill introduced by Democratic senators would create a renewable standard nationwide. The legislation would establish a Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) that would require utilities to get at least 30 percent of their energy from renewable sources by 2030.

According to the bill's co-sponsor Sen. Martin Heinrich (D), the RES would “help unleash the full potential of America’s clean, homegrown energy while putting people to work at the same time.”

It's time for the U.S. to support green energy, reduce their carbon footprint and give their citizens jobs they can be proud of. Please sign the petition to urge U.S. legislators to support a nationwide standard for renewable energy!

We, the undersigned, are writing to support a new bill to amend the Public Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 to establish a renewable energy standard.

As you know, the majority of U.S. states enforce a renewable standard of energy. New legislation would establish a Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) that would require utilities to get at least 30 percent of their energy from renewable sources by 2030.

According to the bill's co-sponsor Sen. Martin Heinrich (D), the RES would “help unleash the full potential of America’s clean, homegrown energy while putting people to work at the same time.”

We believe it is time for the U.S. to support green energy, reduce their carbon footprint and give their citizens jobs they can be proud of. We respectfully urge you to support a nationwide standard for renewable energy. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
