CITIZENS OF CALARASI,DONT KILL YOUR STRAYS!

Mr. Mayor Dragu,

We , the undersigned  hereby,
have been informed of what is happening on the streets of Calarasi from February 22 about the cruelties and atrocities against the strays,
 and we are writing to protest and  show our disappointment of this sad situation.

As European citizens, we do not understand why your city administration continues to face the problem of stray dogs in the city with these uncivilized and barbaric methods.
 We thought that the Law 9/2008, approved by the Romanian Parliament, would be respected by the local authorities and that the path indicated by Save the Dogs and Other Animals (which tried in vain to collaborate with your municipality between 2008 and 2009) would been covered.
On the contrary, you are repeating the mistakes of the past, with the same waste of public resources and the same atrocities against animals, even against those already sterilized in the past.

As far as we are concerned, we will notify all relevant authorities of what is happening on the streets of Calarasi and gather evidences that your administration is violating the European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals (ratified by Romania) and the law for the protection of Animals 9/2008.
We hope that your citizens will take a strong stand against your conduct and that the municipality will start a real plan of sterilization, vaccination and release of stray dogs., and a real campaign of adoptions, thank you.
