Long Island Air Traffic & Helicopter Noise

I live on the north shore because I like the forest, the beaches, the farms and the quietude. But lately I find that the noise from the air traffic of helicopters and small planes is out of control. I can't hear my stereo or TV when they go by and that's not acceptable. I work from home and I can tell you that it is especially bad on the week-ends when the Hamptons crowd is coming home. I know that there was a petition a few years ago to do something about it but the end result was voluntary. They were supposed to fly higher and stay away fro the residential areas. Obviously they are not complying. So I think it's time for more stringent rules and regulations. Fly different routes, make the engines retrofit noise control. I don't care how they do it, I don't want them to invade my space. I am sure the users would not like it if we invaded their space.
