Petition to open the SEC Books

I have recently read a book entitled,Origins of the Crash, by Roger Lowenstein. In it I read that Senator Tom Daschle had pointedly asked the SEC to open its' files regarding the Haarken energy files and President Bush's dealings with that regards. The book also talks about Cheney and his dealings while he was at Halibuton as well. Both Cheney and Bush --it would seem , have been brought before that board of the Security Exchange Commission before. I wonder how can it be that they could convict Bush of anything --when he is "the one" that appointed the "head " of the SEC? Would he be willing to bite the hand that feeds him? I think not!
 
How can it be that we can trust Bush or Cheney in statements they make regarding the Stock market crash? Kenneth Lay was a cronie of Bush and enron lead the way in corruption. Take the rhythmnet Connections , in this same book, they were part of the enron portfolio and dishonest too. How many corrupt stock market investment companies must we re-finance? I don't want to "buy out" any companies and would want all the money stolen from the American citizens returned.

Rodger Lowenstein claims in this book that: "Lay was a political and civic force in Houston, not to mention a close ally of the Bush family."
It would seem to me that birds of a feather flock together.

It would seem that our illustrious President and Vice President have both had a rather sordid past , and I am asking in this petition that Senator Tom Daschle spearhead this endeavor-- to  open those books at the SEC on both Haarken Energy as well as Haliburton. I for my part will not want to be a part of any bail out of "any" corrupt stock investment company.
