At Bullard High School, in Fresno,CA, our school did not join in the changes of a more "relaxed" dress code. To me, I'm sure that's kind of harsh cause we were the only school who didn't participate in this. Students at our school want to feel relaxed and not stressed and if the school wants to dress code us over the littlest thing, why should it be a "distraction" for the boys and girls at our school? Our school is criticizing anyone who wears the color red or royal blue due to the fact that our city deals with gangs so they prohibit wearing any solid shirts with those colors or anyone wearing more than 50% of that too. Another thing is ripped jeans and off-shoulder shirts. Our school always judges our appearance so when wearing these types of clothing they say it's a distraction to our learning because it's not appropriate or shows skin. Let me tell than not other the fact is that absolutely absurd but it's also really ignorant the fact that teacher could wear whatever they want and just not care what we think because they have a "higher standard". It's not fair to all of the students at Bullard High so if you agree with me sign this petition and help me to change our Dress Code into a more relaxed attire.
