Bring an End to the Rapid Deforestation of the Austin Area

Due to increasing urban development in the Austin Area, local woodlands are now being clear-cut at a worrying pace.

If not stopped soon, it could lead to all manner of issues, including local temperature rises, decreased air quality, pollution of waterways and resultant spread of disease, and a major loss in biodiversity.

There are regulations in place to protect the environment, but they mainly focus on water security, and the legislation aimed at woodland conservancy concerns are extremely loose and left to the discretion of developers. In order to address this issue, new policies must be created in order to strengthen regulations on developers and protect local woodlands.
