Monumental tribute to Dick Gregory

On 8/19/2017 the world lost a friend, family member, comedian and a pioneer activist DICK GREGORY. This loss means a lot not only to the black communities but the entire nation and with this country known for memorials to honor its leaders for any known achievements it's is only right that a memorial is made in Mr Gregory's honor. In the times the the nations faces right now with wars, dividing of families lack of leadership it's only right that a memorial is honored to him. This petition has nothing to do with a race war or anything to divide us more as a nation but to honor a person who gave his life to make us laugh and to open our minds. If we continue to tear down monuments of any kind we are not hiding history or erasing history. What will the future hold for our children if they cannot look into history books or look at monuments to know their historical roots of themselves and this country to ignore the significance of Dick Gregory achievements will show to the generations after us it is about race and not right or wrong and that is against what Mr Gregory taught and believed. I know this matter will not be resolved overnight but we have to start somewhere. Our generations deserve to know the truth from beginning to end and Dick Gregory deserves to be remembered and honored in a proper way
