Department of Corrections?
Corrections means to help correct the wrong doer. The prison system has changed dramatically, there use to be education and vocation programs to help change the crimanal mind set, due to provety, abuse or whatever the cause my be. In order for the convict to be re-entered into society with a chance to change, educated and trained in some sort of vocation. But now its all about money, numbers. Its called the revolving door. The goverment pays the state hundreds of dollars a day per inmate, theres over 800,000 inmates in florida alone. Its now possible to own a prison in florida, its became an indrustry. I once heard it stated this way " If kept ignort they'll return" hence revolving door, termed used in prison wardens speech.
We the undersigned, are in the attempt to plead with the State Goverment and Department of Corrections to re-insert Education and Vocational Training to the prisons through out Florida. Therefore inmates can have the oppertunity to better themselves and become active contributers to society upon release, Thank You for your time.
