Puppy Mills NO MORE!!!!

A few weeks ago while on the Internet I found an article on puppy mills. As I read the article I started to cry, not because I get very emotional very easily, but because of the descriptions given about these horrible places. It was horrifying to look at the pictures and nearly impossible to look at them without crying.
As I struggled to read the article I realized that homeless people, although a top priority, are not the only problems that we are dealing with in the US. What most of us don't realize is the horrible conditions and the extreme cruelty that the dogs in these so called "commercial breeder industries" are coping with.
The owners of these companies just barely pass the animal welfare regulations, but this is only when a health inspector comes for a visit.
The females are forced to breed repeatedly until they cannot reproduce anymore. Then after they cannot reproduce anymore they are killed and another female is brought in to take it's place. In the mits of all this are unhealthy puppies being born and are sent off for a profit. These puppies are only with there mom for the first 8 weeks of their life and the are sent to pets stores around the country. These unhealthy puppies are then sent to a home that's thinks that their new bundle of joy will be a great and healthy pup, little do they know what they are in for. These puppies will often have hidden diseases that hadn't been shone in the puppy At the puppy store. There are so many dogs out there that go through this just because the owners of the puppy don't care enough to give the dogs the love and care that they need. Selfish people.

So when you, a friend, or a family Member is thinking about getting a puppy remember where that puppy in the pet store window came from; the terrifying puppy mill. When you want to get a dog remember that there are always great dogs waiting to get adopted at your local animal shelter.
