              • 2012 is the First Year this fair is having Grizzley Bear and Alligator Exhibits for 'entertainment'

              • Grizzley Bear handler 'expert animal trainer' is 26 year old Dexter Osborn who has been cited by the USDA in prior years for either inadequate safe fencing or inadequate animal shelter...which proves how dangerous and unacceptable this 'act' is, is booked for the Alachua County Fair

              • The Grizzley Bear 'entertainment' includes a 'feed the Grizzley' for $5 , exhibit, reminiscent of the 1950s road sideshows ....this is done from an open enclosure making this both dangerous and unacceptable. This act is booked for the Alachua County Fair

              • August 10, 2012 , Alligator 'trainer'  Daniel Beck was bit in the arm by an alligator during his 'act' , in front of a crowd including children.....This group, 'Kachunga Alligator Shows' is the same one booked for Alachua County Fair......The Cuyahoga County fair where the alligator took place, banned this same group from their fair

We need to send a message , Loud and Clear that we do not accept this form of archaic, regressive, so called entertainment.

              • This type of entertainment is both dangerous to humans and exploitive to the wild animals it uses. We in Alachua County and elsewhere do not want this type of exploitation here. We oppose it!  We want it stopped/banned!   We consider this as regression in for our progressive County and culture.

Dear Mr. R. Drummond, Mr. R. Avery, and Honorable Alachua County Commissioners,
