India: Implement a Rhino Conservation Plan!

An increase of rhino poaching activity in India, Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Nepal has moved the five nations to discuss a plan to increase the population of Asian rhinos by at least three percent. Most one-horned rhinos live in India and Nepal and have a population between 3,300 and 3,350. Unfortunately, India's national parks have recently lost over five rhinos to illegal poaching.

At a meeting on October 3, 2013, the IUCN Species Survival Commission discussed plans for helping India protect and restore its rhino population. Strategies include increasing protection in areas with rhino populations and possible transportation areas, and properly maintaining rhino habitats.

Please sign the petition to urge India to take the IUCN Species Survival Commission's advice and protect their rhinos from illegal poaching!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with the declining population of Asian rhinos in India. As you know, India's national parks have recently lost over five rhinos to illegal poaching.

At a meeting on October 3, 2013, the IUCN Species Survival Commission discussed plans for helping India protect and restore its rhino population. Strategies include increasing protection in areas with rhino populations and possible transportation areas, and properly maintaining rhino habitats.

We respectfully urge you to take the IUCN Species Survival Commission's advice and protect your endangered rhinos from illegal poaching before it's too late. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
