The number of signatures for the Village of Holly to assume maintenance of the main road, known as Stonebridge, has not been attained in this latest vote. In 2008 the Village of Holly did assume this as being part of its system of road/streets(s), their charter was changed to reflect this fact, their attorney had all of the legal work done, including the revised description of the properties, and filed with oakland County. The Board then collected signature votes in the amount suggested by our attorney. This vote passed and the necessary legal paperwork was done, including a Replat. This was an expensive process for both the Village and our Association. If we need to reverse the decision, we not only lose our investment, but we may be liable to the Village to return all of the fees that they incurred during the process. We would then have to return to maintaining this part of our road structure, plowing, salting, repairs and security light maintenance.
