Help Make New Jersey's Gun Laws Stronger and Safer

Lately, the gun violence in the United States has increased.  There have been shootings in places that people would expect to be a safe haven.  Most people would want to ban the right to own guns enitrely, but that would go against the second amendment: the right to bear arms.  The goal here is not to totally ban guns, but to make the laws dealing with the ownership of guns stricter, including stronger background checks that accompany the purchase of firearms.

I am from New Jersey, and my goal is not to try to fight for the entire country, but I want to try to at least help my home state.  If this petition does in fact change things in New Jersey, then it can cause a ripple effect which can have a drastic effect on the entire country.
