Kevin Rudd creates a petition hosted on Australian Government infrastructure.
"Royal Commission to ensure a strong, diverse Australian news media"
https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_list?id=EN1938
Infrastructure that should be capable of handling tens of thousands of submissions per hour. Currently it is not fit for purpose.
Many people willing to sign the petition will not sit there for hours hammering the site in the hope their signature will be accepted, nor will they return at a later date without being prompted by some kind of reminder.
Sign this petition if you wanted your voice heard but silenced by technical error.
I know many of you will question the usefulness of this petition and I have one answer. It will provide a metric for lost submissions. Submissions that would determine whether the Royal Commission proceeds or not.
This is important information that should be recorded for later scrutiny and forwarded to the ITS team who manage this infrastructure.
Let's not forget the Government Sensus debacle many years ago, lessons learnt? Clearly not..
