Canada, ban dangerous antibacterial chemicals in personal care products!

A report released by the Canadian Environmental Law Association is recommending that Canada ban triclosan and triclocarban, two dangerous antibacterial chemicals that are commonly found in personal care products.  The report mentions that these chemicals have been found in the Great Lakes and that they have a number of negative effects.

These chemicals have been linked with antibiotic resistance and disrupting human hormones.  Additionally, the Government of Canada released a report on trisclosan last year, which said accumulation of this chemical can have environmental effects.  The fact that this chemical has shown up in waterways shows the environment is already being affected.

Tell Health Canada to follow the Canadian Environmental Law Association's recommendation and ban dangerous antibacterial chemicals!
