Stop South Dakota's Shameful Attack on Trans Students!

H.B. 1008, which the Legislature recently sent to Governor Daugaard's desk, states that “the physical condition of being male or female is determined by a person’s chromosomes and anatomy as identified at birth.” It is legislation pedaled on the lie that trans children are a threat to other children. As such, it seeks to isolate them by making them use separate changing and bathroom facilities. This is unacceptable. It's also against federal law which.

This legislation does nothing to protect children, but it singles out trans kids for mistreatment and leaves them vulnerable to bullying. Governor Daugaard has the power to veto this terrible attack on trans children, so please sign this bill and call on him to do just that!
