Upton Grammar School in Slough (Berkshire) are proposing closing the school at 1:25pm every Wednesday.
There is a consultation in progress which closes on Friday 3rd May. You can email you comments directly to the school (please go to school website) which I encourage all parents of children at the school to do so.
In addition, please sign this petition.
(Many parents may be too busy or unwilling to provide direct feedback to the school. This is a simple way to voice your opposition to the proposal.)
Please note, that this has not been setup by the school. I am just a concerned parent who wants to ensure that before the consultation ends, we have an accurate list of all those parents opposed to the scheme.
If this causes you issues such as:
- ability to pick up children (work commitments or otherwise)
- difficulty in picking up children from different schools with different closing times
- not comfortable with your child being home alone on Wed afternoons
- believe in the longer lunch hour to allow children to have their lunch, develop their social skills and attend lunchtime clubs
