conditions inside north korean prison camps are horrible. people trapped inside these hell holes are treated with no compassion and are forced to survive on only a tiny amount of corn gruel each day. people are being starved to death and forced to work long hours in deplorable conditions until they die. most are there for crimes including expressing any negative comment toward the kim regime. authorities round up entire generations of families for something a relative may have said or done. they believe to root out traitors you must purge three generations. babies are born into this nightmare and may never experience a day of freedom or freedom from hunger. there have been reports of mothers killing their own children in order to eat them. inmates are beaten severely for any number of offenses and tortured or killed for others. we have seen such extermination camps in the past and it is inexcusable for us to sit by and allow this to continue. i believe something should be done. engage the north koreans in a discussion of improving conditions inside these facilities and releasing some prisoners. at least try. while the north korean obsession with obtaining neuclear weapons is also an issue we shold focus on the human rights nightmare that is north korea also needs our urgent attention.
